Get ready for an exciting adventure as we have Space Dress-Up Day! Students are encouraged to dress up as astronauts, planets, rocket ships, and other space-themed characters to explore the wonders of the universe together. Whether you’re rocking a space suit, transforming into your favourite planet, or designing a colourful rocket ship costume, creativity will be in full orbit!
Tomorrow is crazy hair day!
Taves Family Applebarn
We are all very excited for our upcoming field trip to Taves Family Applebarn! However, the weather forecast isn’t looking ideal, so please ensure your child is dressed appropriately. They should bring a jacket, boots, a bag for their pumpkin, a lunch that can be easily eaten outdoors, and a water bottle.
If you are one of the parents joining us, please remember to pay for the trip at the office before Wednesday.
We will be leaving the school at 11:20 a.m. to allow enough time for lunch upon arrival. Our tour will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. It’s sure to be a wonderful day!
Just a reminder that tomorrow is our first spelling “test”. I don’t call it a test because that tends to make them nervous.
These are the 3 words. Just a reminder that all the spelling words for the week are on the spelling page of the blog.

Fall Colour Day
Tomorrow is Fall Colour day. The students are invited to wear casual dress. If they have a shirt or pants (does not have to be both) in Fall colours (brown, red, orange, yellow, green) they can wear that, otherwise they can wear their uniform.
We had another productive week in class! In math, we continued our exploration of place value, focusing on how numbers can be represented in different ways. In Language Arts, we expanded our understanding of word families, specifically the AN and AD word families, by building new words. Additionally, we are reinforcing our knowledge of sight words from the pre-primer Dolch Sight Word list. As many of these words cannot be phonetically decoded, memorization is key. I encourage you to support this learning by practicing these words during your child’s 15-minute daily reading session.
In science, our focus remains on states of matter and how matter can change states. This week, we engaged in hands-on activities, including making butter and pancakes, which provided a delicious way to illustrate these concepts. Although our ice cream-making attempt was less successful, it was still a valuable learning experience.
In social studies, we have temporarily shifted away from our unit on rules, rights, and responsibilities to introduce the concept of a growth mindset. This has been a great opportunity to encourage students to embrace challenges and view mistakes as learning opportunities.
Next week, we will begin spelling tests, which will take place every Friday. Please note that if there is no school on a Friday, there will be no spelling test for that week. The spelling words can be found on the class blog under the “Spelling” tab, and they will also be written in your child’s planner.
Finally, we have started learning our Bible Memory Verse, which we will recite as a class. You can find the verse on the class blog under the “Bible Memory” tab.
