WOW!!!! I can’t believe it is the end of November already! We have so many fun things coming up this week. On Monday we will be starting our 12 days of Christmas countdown.

I also wanted to remind you that the students need to come to school in costume on Monday. They can wear church clothes, or a bathrobe if it is a solid colour. I have the crowns.

Pay to Wear Casual on Tues, December 1st:  Tuesday Dec. 1st we will kick off our Food Drive event with a Pay to Wear Casual day for all students. Each student must make a minimum $5.00 donation to participate.

Instead of bringing in canned food you can make a donation. Our school goal is to raise $5000 for he Salvation Army.

Donations can be made using any of the following methods:

  • etransfer@highroadacademy.com (please note name and purpose of transfer in the notes/memo field of the transfer)
  • cheque (payable to Highroad Academy)
  • Debit (by appointment at the office)
  • Cash

Cash will be brought to the classroom and submitted to the office.

Pay to Wear Casual

On December 1st the students are invited to pay to wear casual clothes. This is a fundraiser for the Salvation Army. The minimum is a $5.00 donation. Please do not send food items as we are not able to collect these during the pandemic. We have a goal of $5000!

Christmas Fun

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas! We will be decorating starting on Wednesday this week in the afternoons. I will have one craft for them to do each day from Wednesday to Friday. On November 30th I will be starting the 12 days of Christmas. Each day we will open a gift that will be full of activities for that day. Each day has its own theme. The themes include:

Candy Cane Day

Christmas Tree Day

Cookie Day

The Grinch

Christmas Carol Day

Gingerbread Man Day

Kindness Day

Polar Express Day

Reindeer Day

Santa Claus Day

Snow Day

Stocking Day

I ask that you do not tell your children the themes, I would like them to be a surprise. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.

Along with the themes, we will be studying the Birth of Christ from the Gospel of Luke, as well as reading many story books written about the Birth of Jesus.

On November 30th, we will be recording the Christmas concert. This year our class will be dressing up as Kings. Please send your student in church clothing that day. A crown will be provided for them. They do not have to wear their uniform that day, they may come to school in costume.
