Matilda

We have finished all 3 Wild Robot books for our read a loud and we need a new book. I would like to read Matilda by Roald Dahl and then watch the movie after we have finished it. If you have any concerns about this please let me know.

I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend and were able to enjoy the beautiful weather! Your kids have been working so hard in class and probably appreciated the break.

Today we had our quiz on the Gold Rush and I am so proud of how well the students did. In Math, we have been working on shapes, angles, and sorting different polynomials according to attributes. In Language Arts, we have started story writing and are working on How to Make Pizza writing. We are reading The One and Only Ivan together and working through a comprehension booklet that covers a variety of skills. In Science we are learning about the phases of the moon. We are still working through the Bible Scavenger Hunts.

Thursday is Pink Shirt Day. Students are invited to wear a pink shirt with casual bottoms. Thursday is also the day we are making pizza so if you were planning on sending sauce or cheese could you please send it tomorrow so I know how much we have. Thank you to so much to those that have already sent some in!

Pizza!

As part of our “How To” writing, we are going to be writing instructions on how to make pizza.

And then…. WE WILL MAKE PIZZA! We have the kitchen booked for February 22. We will make this before lunch, so if your child likes pizza, you do not need to pack them a lunch that day.

We are just going to keep them simple. Would you be willing to send in some pizza sauce or shredded cheese? If you are, please comment on this post, so it is easy to keep track of how much is coming in. You can send it in any time, and we can keep it in our classroom fridge.

This weeks Bible Memory

Monday is our memory verse testing day. Today I tested verses 16 and 17. Please practice these at home as we do not spend a lot of class time practicing. Many students did not know their verse today.

Next week I will test Ephesians 3:18-19.

18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
