What a wonderful week we had, although wet! This week has been full of reviewing addition and subtraction with regrouping, rounding, printing sentences correctly, readers theatre, building our own community, and experiments!
Next week we will continue with readers theatre. I am hoping to video the students acting out their Cinderella play and posting it on the blog. In order to do this I would need to upload it to my Youtube account first. My account is not visible to anyone who does not have the link. If you are uncomfortable with this please let me know.
We had our Terry Fox run this week in the gym. We decided to run in the gym because of the rainy weather we had. I was so proud of the students for trying their best. Thank you for supporting this worthy cause with your Toonies!
Due to the short week, I will introduce the spelling words on Tuesday, but won’t test them until the following Friday (Oct. 9th).
Sept. 28 – PD Day
Sept. 30 – Orange Shirt Day
Oct. 2 – Knights Day

There is a parent Zoom meeting tonight at 6:30. Check your email for the link.
Sorry for the confusion, the Zoom meeting for tonight has been postponed. Please check your email for a new date and time. Thank you for your understanding.
Tomorrow night there will be a Zoom meeting for parents at 6:30. A link will be coming in your email.
We will be collecting Toonies for Terry this week for the annual Terry Fox run. If you would like to send a Toonie in with your child, this is the week to do it! We will be running in the gym on the 24th. Friday is the last day to send in a Toonie.
This weeks spelling list is K7 on spelling city. The students have usernames and passwords for spelling city glued to the front page of their planner. This gives them access to more games and allows me to see their progress.
Tomorrow the students are having individual photos taken, please remember to send them to school in their uniform.
Today I sent home the All About Me posters we have been working on in class. Please complete these and have them returned by next Friday, September 25th.
This Friday we will be painting in art. Please send in a paint shirt if you have not done so already. Thank you!
With rain in the forecast I wanted to remind parents to send students with appropriate clothing for the weather. With the recommendations in place to send students outside as much as possible (assuming that the smoke cooperates), we will be sending students out even if there is a light drizzle.
