It has been so wonderful getting to know your children. We have an incredible class and it has been an amazing year so far. We are learning to persevere when things are difficult, and try our best no matter what!
In Math we finished up a unit on place value and addition with regrouping and have moved on to subtraction with regrouping. After this unit we will move on to multiplication. We will work year round on number sense.
In Language Arts we are working on personal narratives. The students are working on writing complete sentences with subjects and predicates. They are also working on adding interesting details to their writing and using interesting vocabulary.
In Science we are studying biomes. The students are learning about the biomes found in Canada and will be working on research projects about animals from that biome and what adaptations were needed to survive in that particular climate.
In Socials Studies we have finished up a unit on culture and values. We are starting a unit on the map of Canada. It will be a short unit on the provinces and capitals. From there we will do a longer unit on the study of Canadian explorers.
In Bible we finished a unit on biblical characteristics such as friendship, perseverance, bravery, and loyalty. we are now learning about prayer. We will be learning the five finger prayer and will be learning the Lord’s Prayer.
